If Barack Obama is elected President of the United States on Wednesday 5th October, 2008 (Australia time), I promise that, after 30 years, I will give up smoking.

I'm four months into my latest attempt, apart from one a few weeks ago when I was pissed (Which doesn't count)

It's hard, but worth it.

Though I wonder if you may have given yourself a 30 year window in which to take up your pledge?

No Jack, I reckon my window will be a few days at best, maybe a week. Been thinking about it now for months, and this is a better opportunity than NY's resolutions and birthdays and stuff.
